It was a rental for some time before we bought it and showed definite evidence - inside and with some stuff left in the shed - of having been used for indoor hydroponics.
We bought the swan in some country town I can't remember where, but I simply couldn't resist.Janehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03255370960186659884noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8263087349746122997.post-39932372975987417712012-02-09T11:04:50.640+10:302012-02-09T11:04:50.640+10:30I love that your house is called 'way cool'...I love that your house is called 'way cool'. Ours is called Wilton, but the name plaque is actually enclosed inside the house, because what used to be the veranda is now a sunroom. I guess Wilton used to be a family name, but it could describe the state of the house now, all old and neglected and drained of all the 'energy' it used to have, I suppose you could say it is wilting'. We are renting and it looks like our house has been in the renting cycle for a very long time. At a glance you can see the signs of neglect, bad renovations and dodgy fix-up jobs, which is a shame, because it has a lot of character otherwise.

I also love your promotions department door and your tire swan. Did you guys make the swan yourselves, or buy it?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8263087349746122997.post-65658481318872961302012-02-09T06:21:48.413+10:302012-02-09T06:21:48.413+10:30I love that red door. There was a stage when I was very concerned the back room in our extension was looking like a public toilet block or a Girl Guide hall with the sandstone!Janehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03255370960186659884noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8263087349746122997.post-17029330666651120712012-02-08T20:47:39.562+10:302012-02-08T20:47:39.562+10:30That is way cool! That is way cool!Bernicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14594285545901719716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8263087349746122997.post-87282236583420471192012-02-08T20:29:57.250+10:302012-02-08T20:29:57.250+10:30Your house looks lovely! In Melbourne the local rock is bluestone, and while it can make for some rather impressive government buildings, I definitely prefer the softness and tones of sandstone.
We also have waterpots to catch water at the end of a chain downpipe - it's such a simple and pretty alternative to PVC pipes!
Thank you for sharing these pretty glipmses of your home :-)Juddiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11194343498015016201noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8263087349746122997.post-31781161584972626912012-02-08T19:59:59.304+10:302012-02-08T19:59:59.304+10:30I love your water pot (full of waterlilies maybe?)...I love your water pot (full of waterlilies maybe?) with the chain.
